Together Liverpool News bulletin

"As Christians, we believe food is a gift given from God to all human beings, not just to some. We want to live in a society where everyone is able to afford healthy and nutritious food, where food is a source of enjoyment not of anxiety, and where nobody goes to bed hungry.” – Right Rev Paul Bayes, Bishop of Liverpool

At Together Liverpool we join with Bishop Paul and ask for your support to help tackle food insecurity by signing a petition calling on the government to enshrine the 'Right to Food' into UK law, building a system of legal safeguarding which can protect the most vulnerable in our society. As with so many of you, we have responded to the growing food crisis in our country, we see this campaign as one way to tackle the root causes of that crisis, together we must raise our voices to call for change.

In this newsletter we also celebrate the launch of St Aidan’s Pantry in Speke, bring you news of our next two Covid Cash Recovery courses, encourage you to read the VS6 Sustainable and Affordable Food Assembly report, highlight The Clewer Initiative’s Breaking Country Lines training course, and share how we have been able to award Feast of Fun at Home Grants to 24 churches across the diocese: we can’t wait to share the stories of how these have enabled churches to strengthen links with their communities.
