Together Liverpool is fully committed to safeguarding and ensuring we work in a way that prioritises creating a safe, kind space for all. Our Trustees and Staff Teams first priority is ensuring we protect the wellbeing and safety of everyone that we work with.
Together Liverpool Safeguarding Policy:
Safeguarding is the responsibility and concern of all Trustees and as such all of them are available to be contacted to discuss a safeguarding concern related to Together Liverpool. Trustees have nominated members to hold oversight of safeguarding and are your first point of contact if you would like to discuss any safeguarding concerns. These trustees are:

In accordance with its adoption of the Church of England Safeguarding Policy, Together Liverpool is committed to:
- Promoting a safer environment and culture.
- Safely recruiting and supporting all those with any responsibility related to children, young people and vulnerable adults.
- Responding promptly to every safeguarding concern or allegation.
- Caring pastorally for victims/survivors of abuse and other affected persons.
- Caring pastorally for those who are the subject of concerns or allegations of abuse and other affected persons.
- Responding to those that may pose a present risk to others.
The following Safeguarding Statement was agreed by the Board of Trustees in September 2023. It is reviewed annually to ensure it is in keeping with current procedure and best practice.
Together Liverpool will:
- Create a safe and caring place for all and encourage those we work with to likewise.
- Elect from its Board a Trustee to serve as Designated Safeguarding Lead with specific responsibility to implement policy and procedures.
- Safely recruit, train and support all those with any responsibility for children, young people and adults to have the confidence and skills to recognise and respond to abuse. This means we provide clear role descriptions, take up refences, ask successful applicants to complete self-declaration forms and, where appropriate, complete DBS checks.
- Ensure that there is appropriate insurance cover for all activities involving children and adults.
- Display on our website the details of who to contact if there are safeguarding concerns or support needs.
- Listen to and take seriously all those who disclose abuse.
- Take steps to protect children and adults when a safeguarding concern of any kind arises, following House of Bishops guidance, including notifying the Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser and statutory agencies immediately.
- Offer support to victims and survivors of abuse regardless of the type of abuse, when or where it occurred.
- Ensure that health and safety policy, procedures and risk assessments are in place and that these are reviewed annually.
- Ensure activities are risk assessed to identify any risk. Team members will be responsible for ensuring actions to manage and mitigate risk are implemented’
- Review the implementation of the Safeguarding Policy, Procedures and Practices at least annually.
Each person who works within Together Liverpool has agreed to abide by the Church of England Safeguarding Policy and this Safeguarding policy statement.
