Network of Kindness Cost of Living Assembly - November 2023
Everyone is invited to join us for our next Network of Kindness Cost of Living Assembly co-hosted by Together Liverpool and the Archdiocese of Liverpool's social justice team, 7pm-8.30pm on November 16th.
Connect with faith and community groups about the cost of living crisis, hear about the new Let's End Poverty movement, and how to get involved.
Our main speaker will be Gareth McNab, Director of External Affairs for Christians Against Poverty and a key member of the group establishing the new Lets end Poverty movement, launched across the UK in October 2023.
Gareth will talk about working for lasting change, and the work behind the Let's End Poverty movement. We hope this session will help grow the movement locally across the Diocese of Liverpool area and Liverpool City Region.
This Cost of Living Assembly is co-hosted by Together Liverpool, a social justice charity of the Diocese of Liverpool and Church Urban Fund, with the Archdiocese of Liverpool's social justice team.
We'll hear from both organisations about their work, from Pablo Guidi, Catholic Social Action Coordinator for the Archdiocese of Liverpool, and Rev James Green, Executive Director of Together Liverpool, and the Network of Kindness.
There will also be an opportunity to take part in small group discussions, and feed back about the issues discussed.
We hope this will build on discussions started at the Merseyside launch of the Let's End Poverty Movement, which was co-hosted in October at the Unity Theatre by Together Liverpool, St Andrew's Community Network and the Joint Public Issues Team (JPIT).
The Cost of Living Assembly will run on Zoom, and is open to people and groups of all faiths and none, attending either in a professional capacity, as a volunteer, leader or individual citizen.
This session is offered free as part of the Network of Kindness initiative run by Together Liverpool with funding from the National Lottery, to help faith and community groups take their next step in social action.
Our Cost of Living Assemblies aim to gather and share a better understanding of the issues local communities are experiencing, and discuss how we can support each other with practical and impactful responses.
