Together Liverpool will be contributing a main session at this year’s Catholic Social Action Conference, taking place on Friday 10 July at Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral.
Our CEO, Rev James Green, will speak on A Renewed Vision of Human Society as part of a day exploring this year’s theme, Humanitas: Flourishing in Action.
In light of the new papal encyclical, the conference will focus on how human flourishing can be placed at the heart of Catholic Social Action in a rapidly changing world.
Hosted by the Archdiocese of Liverpool, the conference is aimed at charity workers, volunteers, and anyone interested in Catholic Social Teaching and social justice advocacy.
The programme will include a keynote from Jenny Sinclair from Together for the Common Good, reflections on Franciscan spirituality of human flourishing from Fr Maximilian Martin.
There will be a panel discussion bringing together civic and faith voices alongside Catholic Social Teaching experts to explore how society can prioritise human flourishing in a time of AI and rapid technological change.
The day will also feature workshops on themes including diversity and thriving for everyone, humanity within flourishing creation, and reflections on human flourishing from young leaders.
There will be opportunities for open discussion and conversation throughout the conference, with a vegetarian lunch provided.
