Faithful Civic Life: Power, Place and the Common Good
We’ll be running run a three-part Monday evening series this autumn, exploring how churches and faith communities can better understand civic life, build confidence and help shape the common good. Our speaker will be longstanding Liverpool Councillor Jane Corbett, with sessions on Tuesdays: September 22, October 20, and November 24, at St Cleopas Church in Dingle, Liverpool 8. There will be a £15 charge for the series to cover costs including a vegetarian meal. Read more
Welcome Churches
This on-line lunchtime session will explore how Welcome Churches can help your church offer a safe, warm welcome for asylum seekers and refugees. Join us to discover how to become designated as a ‘Welcome Church’ and step up into the Welcome Churches+ network. We’ll meet on Friday 6th November from midday to 1pm. Book now.
Meet the Funders
We’ll be running an on-line Meet the Funders session with the Community Foundation for Merseyside, on Tuesday 3rd November 12-1pm. This will give Network of Kindness members the opportunity to find out more about funding opportunities, ask questions and hear about support available for community projects.
Supporting Prison Leavers: Introduction to the Welcome Directory
This on-line session running on Tuesday 17th November 12-1pm aims to help you discover how your faith community can provide a safe, welcoming space for people leaving the prison system.
Manifesto for Hope Community Conversations
We’ll be hosting a series of in person community conversations this autumn, providing an opportunity for people to come together to explore the Manifesto for Hope in Our City Region in greater detail, share perspectives, and discuss how its vision can be put into action in our communities. Coming up in 2027:
Radical Welcome
Church leaders and social action teams are invited to join a free four-week Radical Welcome course, running in early 2027. This will be an opportunity to begin to explore how churches can be not only more inclusive, but ‘radically welcoming’ to everyone in our communities. This event was originally scheduled for October and November but due to unforeseen circumstances is being re-scheduled for the New Year.
