Easy Read training - 24th January

Do you produce any kind of written information for customers, service users or the general public? This may include flyers, handouts, website text or sets of instructions. Come and learn how to use Easy Read – and ensure your information is understood by your whole audience.

Easy Read training 10.30am - 3pm on Friday 24th January at St Andrews Church, Clubmoor

If any of your audience can’t understand the information you’re giving them, you’re wasting your time and theirs. This is frustrating for everyone and sometimes it can have serious consequences.

Easy Read is an accessible format that helps you make your information easier for everyone to understand. It’s designed for people who have a learning disability but it works well for people with a whole range of needs.

Training will be led by Mencap Liverpool & Sefton - who produce and check Easy Read information. They want to share what they have learnt so that more organisations can produce information that everyone can understand.

The training will help you to think about how and what you communicate. Basic templates will be provides, along with tips from experts in using Easy Read. Mencap Liverpool & Sefton will also give you a sound business case for spending your time on this.

The day will include time to practice, so please feel free to bring along some information with you that you’d like to make more accessible.

The training will be co-delivered by members of Mencap Liverpool & Sefton’s Easy Read checking group – who each have a learning disability - so you can have your initial efforts quality-checked on the day.

A basic soup lunch will be provided - please inform us of any dietary or access requirements.
