Faithful Civic Life: Power, Place and the Common Good
We’ll be running run a three-part Monday evening series this autumn, exploring how churches and faith communities can better understand civic life, build confidence and help shape the common good. Our speaker will be Councillor Jane Corbett, Assistant Mayor of Liverpool and Mayoral Lead for Fairness & Tackling Poverty, with sessions on September 21, October 19, and November 23. There will be a £15 charge for the series to cover costs including a vegetarian meal.
Radical Welcome
Church leaders and social action teams are invited to join a free four-week Radical Welcome course. This will be an opportunity to begin to explore how churches can be not only more inclusive, but ‘radically welcoming’ to everyone in our communities. We’ll be guided through four one-hour sessions by course facilitator Warren Hartley, meeting at Christ Church Norris Green, part of Christ Our Hope, from 7.30pm-8.30pm on October 6th and 20th, and November 3rd and 17th. Welcome Churches
This on-line lunchtime session will explore how Welcome Churches can help your church offer a safe, warm welcome for asylum seekers and refugees. Join us to discover how to become designated as a ‘Welcome Church’ and step up into the Welcome Churches+ network. We’ll meet on Friday 6th November from midday to 1pm. Book now.
Meet the Funders
We’ll be running two on-line Meet the Funders sessions (dates to be confirmed), with the Community Foundation for Merseyside, and Near Neighbours. These will give Network of Kindness members the opportunity to find out more about funding opportunities, ask questions and hear about support available for community projects. Manifesto for Hope Community Conversations
We’ll be hosting a series of in person community conversations this autumn, providing an opportunity for people to come together to explore the Manifesto for Hope in Our City Region in greater detail, share perspectives, and discuss how its vision can be put into action in our communities.
