Building hope and transformation in our communities
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” – 2 Corinthians 5:17
As we reflect on the power of new beginnings after Easter, we’re reminded that transformation is always possible. For those leaving prison, a fresh start can be both daunting and full of hope. This is where faith communities can play a pivotal role – by offering support, encouragement, and a welcoming space to help individuals rebuild their lives.
Faith group leaders are invited to an event at Altcourse Prison on May 21, when we’ll be sharing about how the Network of Kindness can support faith groups in this vital work. Please read on for details.
Also in this newsletter on the theme of new beginnings: Could your group gain fresh energy & insight by becoming part of the Places of Welcome network? Are you helping protect new life this spring by taking part in No Mow May?
We’re also looking forwards to the 2025 Micah Lecture, to be delivered in June by Jenny Sinclair, director of Together for the Common Good and daughter of the late Bishop of Liverpool David Sheppard, as part of this year’s Faith in the City 40th anniversary events.
But first, we’re giving thanks for all Network of Kindness members who hosted Feast of Fun activities to help tackle school holiday hunger over Easter.
Feel free to pass this email on to your friends, with an invite to join the Network of Kindness. In the meantime thanks for everything you are doing!
Thanks, from all at Together Liverpool
