Stories of Kindness: Hope Community Fridge

Posted on

We’re pleased to launch Stories of Kindness – Together Liverpool’s new storytelling series celebrating the inspiring ways people across our Network of Kindness are putting love into action in their communities.

We’re shining a light on everyday acts of kindness – from food support projects to friendship groups – introducing some of the individuals and groups working together to build a more just, generous and equal society.

We begin the series with two powerful stories from Hope Community Fridge, a weekly food pantry run by Hope Church Kensington in Liverpool.

Meet Hope Community Fridge

Our first film explores how the pantry helps tackle food insecurity – while creating a welcoming space for connection and community. Watch to hear insights from regular pantry guest Karl, and staff member Josh.

Our second video shares volunteer Lee’s moving story of transformation – from struggling with alcoholism and depression to finding support, faith and friendship through the pantry.

First welcomed as a guest, Lee later joined the church community. His testimony is a powerful reminder of how simple acts of welcome and inclusion can change lives.

Do you have a story to share?

We’re grateful to everyone at Hope Community Fridge for sharing their stories – and for the vital work they’re doing in the heart of their community.

Through Stories of Kindness, we’ll be sharing more uplifting stories from across our region – featuring volunteers, guests, faith leaders and community organisers who are finding creative ways to share hope and make a difference.

We hope you find these stories encouraging – and that they inspire others to take action in their communities.

If you’ve got a story of kindness to share, we’d love to hear from you.
