Community Cohesion

We want our communities to be kind, welcoming places where people can enjoy life in all its fullness. But, of course, every community is different, and the changes people are looking for will be different too.

Together Liverpool brings people together, and helps them work together to improve things in their own neighbourhoods. We want to support communities to identify what is needed in their areas and to create individual projects that will bring about positive change.

In particular we want to create a Network of Kindness – supporting new and existing projects to weave more kindness into their provision, and ask how they can enable participants to spread kindness even further.

For us, kindness isn’t just ‘added value’. It is at the heart of everything we do and is what connects us to each other. Kindness is a transaction of goodness and an act of justice. Being kind is a radical act of generosity that enables us to become connected to each other beyond our boundaries and differences.

We are also promoting community cohesion and kindness through encouraging community spaces, such as churches, community centres and libraries to offer Places of Welcome.
