Together Liverpool is recruiting for two roles to deliver a new national pilot project, Countering Hate, Cultivating Hope, from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2029.
The project responds to the growth of divisive narratives and social fragmentation in communities experiencing deprivation, exclusion and low trust.
The project seeks to strengthen the Church’s role as a credible, hopeful public presence: listening well, building belonging across difference, meeting practical need, and speaking clearly for justice.
Funded by the Church of England’s national Racial Justice Unit, the work will be led by Together Liverpool and piloted across the Liverpool and Chelmsford dioceses.
The Project Lead and Project Co-ordinator will deliver two connected strands:
- Speaking Out: equipping clergy and lay leaders with training, resources and theological reflection to challenge divisive narratives, strengthen inter-faith and civic relationships, and support public voice.
- Working with communities: working in high-deprivation contexts to listen well, support basic needs, and co-design practical pathways into inclusion, opportunity and wellbeing.
