Welcome to our Network of Kindness newsletter from Together Liverpool – supporting you to take your next step in social action. We’re looking forwards to seeing many of you at events we’re hosting in the next few days:

  • Exploring the role of faith communities in social justice with Bishop John – tomorrow Thursday June 27th 12.30pm-3pm.
  • Social Action Network Conference which we’re co-hosting with the Archdiocese of Liverpool’s social justice team, and Christian charity Housing Justice – Thursday July 4th 9.30am – 3.30pm.

Read on for updates about other social justice activities coming up, including:

  • Slavery and Repentance exhibition – launched at Liverpool Cathedral in spring, this is now on a tour of churches, including three Network of Kindness members, from now until October.
  • The Joint Public Issues Team and Let’s End Poverty Campaign are hosting an on-line discussion tomorrow June 27th, to hear what people on the frontline of poverty want our next Prime Minister to know.
  • Micah Lecture – this year the subject of ‘Robot Souls’ will be presented by Dr Eve Poole OBE, at Liverpool Cathedral, July 2nd 7pm – 9pm.
  • Christian Aid Thanksgiving service – our chair Rev Canon Ellen Loudon will be among the guest speakers at a time of prayer, worship, and thanksgiving for Christian Aid Week, on-line 7pm on Sunday July 7th.

In the meantime it’s been great to see so many of you at our recent events, including the Radical Welcome course with Open Table Network, and the Meet the Funders session with LCR Digital Inclusion Network.

Thank you to all Network of Kindness members who applied for Feast of Fun grants to help tackle school holiday hunger. As a result we’ll be supporting ten faith groups to provide 2,800 meals over the summer break, thanks our partnership with funders Meals & More.

Welcome to new Network of Kindness members including the Good Funeral Company; Kensington Community Learning Centre CIC; Liverpool Diocesan Council for Social Aid; Trinity church Skelmersdale; and St Philip & St Paul with Wesley church, Southport.
