“An ounce of practice is worth more than a tonne of theory.” These words from Steve Chalke MBE remind us of the power of action over ideas alone.
We’re pleased to be welcoming Steve to join us on Tuesday 3rd December for an inspiring Engaging Civic Leaders workshop all about turning faith-inspired ideas into meaningful social action. As the founder of the Oasis Charitable Trust, and a former UN Special Advisor on Human Trafficking, Steve has spent decades championing change. He’ll be sharing insights from his book A Manifesto for Hope, exploring how we can collectively work towards a brighter future. Lunch is included, so you can come ready for a full day of learning and discussion!
Then, on Wednesday 11th December, we’ll be hosting our Understanding Trauma-Informed Practice workshop. This session, delivered in partnership with the Merseyside Violence Reduction Partnership, and co-hosted by Micah, St Andrew’s Community Network, and Imagine If. We will offer practical tools and approaches to support those we encounter in our communities who are affected by trauma. This full-day event also includes lunch, making space for connection and collaboration with others who share your vision for a kinder, more just world.
We’re looking forward to seeing many of you at these events and hope you can join us for what promise to be two inspiring and action-focused days. Spaces are limited, so don’t miss out!
Read on for more insights about both events – we’d love to see you there.
Thanks, Rev James Green
