Our Feast of Fun grants provide funding for faith groups to help tackle school holiday hunger.
We believe in the power of food to bring people together. The scheme offers grants from £50 to £500 to support faith groups in hosting healthy, food-related activities for children and families.
These activities usually run during Easter and Summer school holidays, a time when families often face the greatest need.

What is the Feast of Fun grant scheme?
Feast of Fun grants support faith groups to run healthy food-related activities for children and families during the school holidays. Grants range from £50 to £500 and help tackle school holiday hunger while bringing communities together.
What kind of activities are eligible?
Activities must take place during Easter or Summer holidays and include:
- Healthy meals
- A wellbeing or educational element (like crafts, games, music or fitness)
Past events have included cooking sessions, craft workshops, dodgeball tournaments, and family fun days.
Who can apply?
Any faith group based within the geographical area covered by the Diocese of Liverpool can apply. You need to be a member of the Network of Kindness. We especially welcome first-time applicants and groups trialling new activities.
Do Feast of Fun grants make a difference?
Yes! In summer 2024 alone, Network of Kindness members provided 2,340 meals, helping reduce holiday hunger, support families, and build community connections.
The food reached 814 children and adults, thanks to ten faith groups who hosted the activities, bringing young people and communities together to share healthy food and activities.
Staff were supported by 86 volunteers who helped out at the events across Liverpool and Wigan, which all reached children in receipt of free school meals.
Among them, Triple C (Liverpool) and Christ Church Norris Green served more than 900 Feast of Fun meals at a two-week summer play scheme, at Leamington Community Primary School.

Feast of fun activities do more than provide meals – they bring communities together and help out families facing extra pressures during the holidays.

Providing our families with opportunities to give their children a different life story is invaluable… it helps break the cycle for these children. For us that’s immeasurable as it’s changing a generation. Something I particularly like about the Network of Kindness as a funder is that there’s a face behind the kindness.
